    Nine out of 10 consortiums qualify for Chebren hydropower project second phase of bidding

    The government at its session on Friday reviewed and adopted the information on granting water use concession for electricity generation from Chebren Hydro Power Plant (HPP) on the Crna river as well as the report on evaluation of the received application documentation for pre-qualification phase at the international public call.

    Out of ten foreign companies and consortiums that submitted prequalification offers for the Chebren hydropower project on the Crna river, the Evaluation Commission prepared a list of companies and consortiums that meet the prequalification requirements which includes Turkish consortium ENKA-Colin, Public Power Corp. and Archirodon from Greece, French EDF, the consortiums of Cobra and Cobra Hidraulika from Spain, Austrian consortium of EVN and Verbund, Webuild (formerly called Salini Impregilo) from Italy, Gezhouba and Power Construction Corp. of China (PowerChina) and Turkish consortium Özaltın – Yapı Merkezi.

    The government tasked the Commission for conducting the procedure for water concession for electricity generation from the hydropower plants on Crna river within seven days to inform all nine consortiums that have passed pre-qualification phase and are approved to continue the procedure in the second phase.
