According to the State Statistical Office, electricity production in August 2020, unlike last year in August, decreased by a large 10%. This year’s production is 478,795 MWh, while last year’s production in August was 531,749 MWh.
The decline in production from thermal power plants is as much as 58%, production this year in August was 121,516 MWh, compared to last year’s production in this period of 289,299 MWh.
The production of electricity from hydropower plants on the other hand has a huge growth of 95.5%! Wind farms also increased production by as much as 60.9% from August 2019 and August 2020. This year we have a record production of wind energy, as we have already announced on our portal.
According to the State Statistical Office, 94.7 percent of electricity consumed is from domestic sources.
