    AD MEPSO invests EUR 3.18 million in reconstruction of Bitola 2 transformer station

    Electricity Transmission System Operator of the Republic of North Macedonia, AD MEPSO, is to reconstruct 400/110 kV Bitola 2 transformer station, which is vital for the energy sector in North Macedonia.

    General Manager of AD MEPSO Eva Shukleva and representative of Dalekovod d.d. Nikola Madzar in attendance of Minister of Transport and Communications Blagoj Bochvarski signed Wednesday agreement concerning reconstruction works on the 40/110 kV Bitola 2 substation.

    EUR 3.18 million will be invested in reconstruction works that involve the delivery and installation of a new control system and the replacement of the existing protection system. Of EUR 3.18 million, EUR 2.2 million are AD MEPSO’s own funds and the rest of the funds are loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

    Under the agreement, the project should be completed within three years, and the Croatia’s Dalekovod is to carry out the reconstruction as it has been selected as the best bidder in the tender.

    Bitola 2 transformer station is of vital for the energy sector as it is connected to the country’s largest electricity generation facility – TPP Bitola as well as the mines Suvodol and Brod – Gneotino.
